Bushido Kids Karate Instructors

Sensei Sandy has studied various martial arts forms over the past 30 years including Goju-Ryu Karate, Tai Chi, Judo and Shorin-Ryu Karate. She presently holds the international rank of 4th Degree Black Belt (Yondan) in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate and is a student of Kyoshi Pat Haley, 8th Dan and vice president of the North American Shorinkan. Sensei Sandy attends training sessions throughout the year including the internationally attended Little Okinawa Camp in North Carolina hosted by Hanshi Doug Perry every summer. Sensei Sandy is the chief instructor at Bushido Kids Karate.

Sensei Steve, Godan, conducts sparring classes for teens and adults on Thursdays during the last full week of each month. Students practice various defensive drills and have the opportunity to participate in partner sparring at solid blue belt. Sensei Steve is also a student of Kyoshi Pat Haley, and brings many years of experience and expertise in sparring techniques and bunkai, 'applications', to the dojo.

Sensei Tim presently holds the rank of Shodan, 1st Degree Black Belt. He attends training workshops throughout the year including Kyoshi Pat Haley's weapons and bunkai seminars and Hanshi Doug Perry's Little Okinawa camp in North Carolina every August. Sensei Tim is an active teacher for the teen classes.

Sensei Janice is a recent recipient of her black belt and holds the rank of Shodan. She regularly participates in bunkai and weapons training workshops, is an active teacher in the kids and adult classes and is also an assistant instructor for our self defence program providing seminars at several locations throughout Ontario.

Sempai Sandra presently holds the rank of 2nd Kyu Brown/Wht Belt. She has earned her Assistant Instructor designation and is an active teacher for the senior kids classes.

Sempai Alison holds the rank of 2nd Kyu Brown/Wht Belt. As well as being a dedicated student who drives from out of town to participate in her own classes she is active in assisting with the kids classes and self defence seminars.

Sensei Roy, Sandan, is a guest instructor to our dojo bringing his vast knowledge of kobudo, traditional weapons training, to our students. All teen and adult students are invited to attend Sensei Roy's class as a great opportunity to advance their kobudo skills.
