Bushido Kids Karate Instructors

Renshi Sandy has studied various martial arts over the past 40 years including Shorin-ryu and Goju-ryu Karate, Tai Chi and Judo. She specializes in self defence and has run seminars throughout Ontario for thousands of participants from organizations including McMaster University, The Ontario Court of Justice, The Ontario Teachers Federation and Toronto Community Services. She holds the title of Shihan and international ranks of Renshi, 5th degree black belt in karate and 2nd degree black belt in kobudo (weapons).

Sensei Tim holds the rank of Yondan, 4th degree black belt, and has been studying karate since he was a Little Dragon beginning at age 4! Sensei Tim enjoys teaching his teen and adult students a variety of bunkai applications (self defense from the kata), grappling skills and kobudo kumite (partner drills with traditional Okinawan weapons)

Sensei Yanick holds the rank of Sandan, 3rd degree black belt. He is a dedicated instructor for our kids, teen, adult and kobudo classes. He is also a certified Ontario physical education high school teacher. Sensei Yanick brings his enthusiasm, passion and skill to every class!

Sensei Patrick holds the rank of Sandan, 3rd degree black belt. He is an instructor for our kids, teen and adult classes. Sensei Patrick embraces precise and controlled sparring and enjoys passing on these sparring (kumite) skills and knowledge to the students

Sensei Linda holds the rank of Sandan, 3rd degree black belt, in Shorin-Ryu karate. She also holds the rank of Shodan, 1st degree black belt, in Wado-Ryu Karate. She often assists the kids, teens and adults. Sensei Linda has a wealth of experience and knowlege in traditional Okinawan karate to share

Sensei Olaf holds the rank of Nidan, 2nd degree black belt. He is a patient and meticulous teacher, using his skills as a university professor to help guide and pass on knowledge to the students. Sensei Olaf enjoys dissecting his kata and perfecting his moves. He studies the details and shares these techniques with the students

Sensei Mackenzie holds the rank of Nidan, 2nd degree black belt. She is currently away at university but is an occasional instructor for our kids, teen and adult classes. Sensei Mackenzie is a skilled student who has a great rapport with the sutdents. She enjoys running them through warm-ups and helping them refine their technique and perfect their kata

Sensei Marcus holds the rank of Nidan, 2nd degree black belt. Sensei Marcus is a strong martial artist and a premium kicker who enjoys leading the students in advanced kicking drills to help improve their skills

All ranks and titles for our black belt instructors have been awarded on merit in open testing conducted by a grading board comprised of senior ranking black belts and are certified by the Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Kyokai in Okinawa, Japan.
